DoneBefore31.com is a necessary addition to the internet. It’s a unique collection of thoughts, ideas, goals, and accomplishments, sent to us exclusively by our users, which we then publish on the site. This is where people can come share everything they would love to accomplish or wished they had accomplished in their lifetime. Some may be realistic while others may be as far fetched as your imagination can reach. Posts start with “Before I turn(ed) 31,” and the rest from there is up to our users. The site is updated with new thoughts on a daily basis, so people can continue to come back, read, post, comment, and ultimately enjoy

WHO CREATED DONEBEFORE31.COM?:

The site was created by Max Steven Miller, a graduate of UC Berkeley, with the FMyLife.com layout, and anyone who has ever created some kind of life goal list, as inspiration. One day, while doing some thinking in the shower--where the best thinking occurs...Max found himself thinking about a few things he wanted to accomplish to make his life more interesting. He let his curiosity about what other people might want to accomplish/wished they had accomplished get the best of him. The creation of this site was the result. Many thanks go out to VANESSA VAN PETTEN of RadicalParenting.com and SCOTT EDWARDS of Scott-Edwards.com for their help and motivation during the creation of this site.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS SITE ALL ABOUT?:

DoneBefore31.com contains short stories that are posted daily. These stories always begin with “Before I turn(ed) 31,” and the user has free range from that point on. Along with hearing all of the things that people actually hope to accomplish, imagination and creativity are encouraged! So feel free to post stories that may be ridiculous, insane, not necessarily realistic, taboo, etc.

IS THIS THE SAME THING AS A BUCKET LIST?

Hell no! This is NOT a bucket list. A bucket list is things you would do if you were gonna die tomorrow! This is a list of things you would like to do to enhance the rest of your life somehow.

HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?:

Every visitor to the site has the ability to contribute and submit their own story by clicking on the “Submit” link in the menu at the top of the page. To be published, your story will first have to be approved by our team. As soon as your story has been posted, other users can comment on it or vote for it by either selecting: “Ooh! Good one. That’s going on my list too!” if they support you or “Ooh! I’ve already done that.” if they want to brag that they’ve already accomplished something you’re only dreaming about! These votes allow us to rank your stories in 2 categories: Top and Flop. Both categories can be found in the menu at the top of the page.

OKAY. SO WHY '31'? WHY NOT '30' OR '35'?


I’VE JUST SENT IN MY STORY TO DB31.COM. WHAT HAPPENS NOW?:

The publication process consists of two parts. First, the DB31 you've sent will be put through the auto moderation system, where other users will be able to vote on whether they want your story to be published on the site. If there happens to be enough support for your story, the moderating team will then decide whether the story is worthy of being on the main page.

WHY HAS MY DB31 STORY NOT BEEN APPROVED?:

Each day we receive a large amount of thoughts and stories. We want the site to cover a broad spectrum of thoughts and ideas, so we have to select a limited amount of stories a day. To do so, we follow a few guidelines and criteria: we want all DB31 stories to seem fresh, well written, entertaining, realistic, and funny without seeming forced. If your's doesn't end up on here, it's probably cause it just wasn't that damn interesting!

WHY SHOULD I CREATE A MEMBER ACCOUNT?:

You must become a member to be able to comment on other people’s posts. Sometimes, the comments are more entertaining than the stories themselves, so we encourage you to join. The membership is free and we would never share your information or use it to solicit. If you do not sign up to become a member, you can still submit DB31 stories, moderate the stories, and vote for the anecdotes so they can climb the Top and Flop charts.

HOW CAN I FIND A SPECIFIC DB31 STORY OR ANOTHER MEMBER?:

You can use the search box at the top right hand corner of the page. To find an DB31 story, if you know its number, type # in the search box, followed by the number (ex: #48). If you don't remember the number, or you want to find a member, you can use the advanced search to try and find what you’re looking for.

CAN I RECEIVE THE DB31 STORIES AUTOMATICALLY?:
